To strengthen the cooperation with European solid state lighting manufacturers, institutes and enterprises, China SSL Alliance (CSA) has organized its second Europe business trip since 2006. The trip was from 10/28 to 11/07, and the delegate group consisted of 17 people, a part of members from both the alliance and the expert team of National 863 Solid State Lighting Program. This trip was intended to be an opportunity to look closer at the latest progress in European SSL research and industrialization, and to create more technology and business collaborations. The group members visited Osram Opto Semiconductor, Philips Research Center, Aixtron AG, Thomas Swan Scientific Equipment Ltd. and University of Cambridge, interviewing with their senior managerial staffs and technical experts about the SSL technology developing direction, market applications, patents, standards and MOCVD equipments. Ruan Jun, vice secretary-general of CSA and leader of the delegate group, was invited to attend the 3rd International Plastic Electronics 2006 Conference & Showcase hosted by Plastic Electronics Foundation of Germany, presenting the status of Chinese solid state lighting industry.
