About CHINA SSL

China's National Ministry of Science and Technology has associated with National Ministry of Information Industry and National Ministry of Construction etc. to launch "National Solid State Lighting (SSL) Program" since June, 2003. Related departments, industries and local governments pay great attentions to the development of solid state lighting industry in China. With great supports from them, the Governing Committee for China SSL has successfully hosted the annual "China International Solid State Lighting Forum & Exhibition" ("CHINA SSL") since 2004 in Shanghai, Xiamen and Shenzhen, respectively.

With a successful completion of the "National SSL Program" during the 10th Five Year Plan, SSL industry in China has established relatively complete R&D system from processing of epi-wafers, fabrication of chips and packaging of devices to integrated applications. China State Council released "National Medium- and Long- Term Program for Scientific and Technological Development (2006-2020)" in 2006. The "energy-efficient and long lifetime SSL products" has been listed as a priority topic in the most important energy field and raised extensive attentions from both home and abroad. SSL Industry in China has entered into an important historic period of self-innovation and great-leap-forward development. For the new strategic targets of the 11th Five Year Plan, Governing Committee for China SSL, associating with related departments and industries, has determined to hold the annual "CHINA SSL" Festival in Shanghai and Shenzhen by turns from 2007, which will make the "CHINA SSL" as a high level and effective platform for communication and corporation in global SSL community.

The "CHINA SSL" has been well established and become the largest and most influential SSL event in China. The number of cumulative attendees of forum has reached 1400 while that of exhibition is over 30000. 2006 CHINA SSL in Shenzhen attracted 524 attendees including renowned specialists and government officials have attended the forum.

Hosts of "CHINA SSL" andLighting EXPO" have made agreement to initiate deep cooperation to integrated and fully utilize convention & exhibition resources. The combined force of the two leading SSL events in China will further accelerate the cooperation and communication between China and International SSL industries. And also "2007 CHINA SSL" will be parallel hold with "13th LIGHTING CHINA" to make close contacts with traditional illumination to further boost the development of SSL industry in China.
