With its rapid development, Chinese Solid State Lighting Industry has a great urge for standardization. The national 10th Five-Year Plan provided initial promotions and supports, and brought an apparent progress. On August 24th 2007, China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA) set up a Standardization Promotion Group (short in "the Group") as specific affiliate of CSA to facilitate and promote the standardization for Chinese SSL industry. The Group held its first meeting on October 22nd of 2007 at Beijing Lighting Research Institute. Attendants included Wu Ling, director of CSA, 9 members of the Group, 3 guest experts and people from CSA secretary. The meeting was chaired by Ruan Jun, vice secretary-general of CSA and leader of the Group. The meeting focused on the 3 most concerning issues for Chinese SSL industry: 1. Facilitate collaborations among principal lighting standardization related organizations 2. Plan work flows and work divisions of the Group 3. Improve international collaborations and formalization
